Promotions, advertising and marketing can be a real pain, especially for those who aren’t social media savvy, or have no money to advertise. I’ve tried different things in the past to promote my work, once asking readers to translate the title of a novel using only the moves of a chess game (tying it into the events of the book) to setting up an online scavenger hunt (again, because it related to the plot of the book). Both failed dramatically. But that’s not going to stop me from trying new things to get the word out about my books and encourage reading, reviewing and sharing. Learn More

It’s getting closer!
Before my new novel officially lands on June 23, you now have the chance to check out the first two chapters, which are ready to be devoured as part of the brand new Phoenix Moirai Publising site, which itself dives head first into what makes publishing with Phoenix Moirai so unique (or at least what will make it unique, once it’s fully operational in, say, ten or so years *cross fingers*; I know, it’s a long time to wait, but I’m still building the business, here, so be patient!) Memoirs of Keladrayia Release Postponed
Posted by Bryan Caron in Books, Entertainment, Novel, Promotions, Writing on May 26, 2015
A couple of months ago, I announced a tentative release date for my new novel, Memoirs of Keladrayia: Jaxxa Rakala. Well, that release date has come, and due to a looming deadline on a recent project (and the addition of some unexpected projects that needed to be turned around rather quickly), “tentative” has become the most useful word I’ve used in the last few months!
But for all of my fans out there anxiously waiting for this book to be released, I can say with almost certain certainty (like how I did that… still gives me a little wiggle room on this, though I don’t believe I’ll need it) that Memoirs of Keladrayia will be released on June 23, 2015. And just to whet your whistle, here are some other dates to keep note of: Check Out All of the Important Dates
Write A Novel With Me On Hiatus
Posted by Bryan Caron in Books, Entertainment, Novel, Releases, Writing on February 9, 2015
For all of you looking forward to reading the next chapter for Write A Novel With Me, I have some bad news. No, Write A Novel With Me is not ending by any means; I am having too much fun writing the story to have that happen. However, over the last couple of weeks, due to some other responsibilities (and some personal matters that needed attending to), I realized I have seriously been neglecting my other novel, Memoirs of Keladrayia. My initial plan to release the novel last summer was waylaid as I slowly built leads and contacts for my new business, Phoenix Moirai. And every time someone asked when the book would be coming out, I would usually give a two to three month time frame from the time the question was posed, no matter when it was asked or who asked it. Several weeks ago, I mentioned on Twitter that the third draft was nearing completion, and there it sat… unloved as I continued to push its priority to the back burner.
Well, no more. Find Out Why
1st Draft Complete… Finally!

Over the past couple of months, I’ve been pretty quiet in posting much of anything other than my weekly movie review. It’s not necessarily that I didn’t have anything to say, it’s that taking the time to turn my thoughts into anything that would make a modicum of sense has been elusive, mostly due to a lack of motivation. Part of this, I think, stems from the struggles I’ve been encountering in getting Phoenix Moirai out into the public consciousness and turning new contacts into actual clients. I knew going in that it was going to be an extremely steep and laborious climb, but with the reality of it all settling into place, and my current revenue stream beginning to dry up, you can see how this might make me feel a little insignificant and powerless. Star Wars: The Anticipation Awakens
Posted by Bryan Caron in Commentary, Entertainment, Film, Movies, Observances on November 27, 2015
At one point in my 2012 film, Secrets of the Desert Nymph, one of the characters encourages his best friend to go after the girl of his dreams before it’s too late. When his friend finally agrees, he’s boggled by the idea that he do it right that minute.
The exchange:
“You mean now?”
“No. When episode seven hits theaters.”
Of course, this was when it was a well-known fact that George Lucas wasn’t ever going to release another Star Wars film. The joke was meant to mean if he didn’t do it right that minute, he never would.
Cut to one year later and the announcement that Disney bought Lucasfilm and its entire film library for $4 billion dollars. Disney’s second announcement — Episode 7 was coming, and it was coming fast. And even though it makes the joke in a three-year-old movie seem as dated as the fight over Beta and VHS, I couldn’t be more excited. Find Out More
