Meet Kara Reisen & Thomas Demeut – The Spirit Of…

The final two members on Matthew Stevens’s team are similar in many ways: they both joined about the same time, they both have a history in hunting ancient artifacts that may have some connection to the Bible, and their pasts are haunted with pain and regret. They also became real fast friends. In fact, when I first met them, I could swear they were a couple. Hey, they’re both pushing forty and have no significant others to speak of. It was an honest mistake. But they’re good sports. They could laugh at it.

Let’s break it down for you. Learn more about Kara Reisen and Thomas Demeut

Meet Henry Green – The Spirit Of…

Talking to Henry Green, one of Matthew Stevens’s archaeology students, is… how do I say this? Interesting? He seems like a decent guy when you first meet him, but once you get to know him a little, things aren’t so cut and dry. It doesn’t help that his life before joining Matthew’s team is unknown. Whenever I brought up his past — that is any time before his first meeting with Matthew during a freshman arrival banquet at Yale — he’d remain allusive, changing the subject or feigning ignorance. I’m not saying he’s trying to hide anything, but I know the same question hides in the back of Matthew’s mind. Learn more about Henry Green

Meet Lauren Mead – The Spirit Of…

Next up in my series of character introductions for my new novel, The Spirit Of…, is Lauren Mead, best friend and fellow archaeologist of Matthew Stevens. The two met nine years ago as part of the same expedition to Egypt and have been basically inseparable (professionally, that is) ever since. My theory for this is her deference for Matthew. Lauren’s history with men hasn’t been remarkable — in fact, it’s been downright brutal — and there was a kindness in Matthew I believe Lauren became attached to, and hasn’t been able to give up since.

Meet Matthew Stevens – The Spirit Of…

As you may know, my new novel, The Spirit Of…, is being released on June 3, so in an attempt to build some anticipation for the book, I’ll be introducing you all to the major characters over the next three months.

First up is Matthew Stevens, archaeologist and Professor of Archaeology at Yale University. At least he was a professor before he squandered all of his grant money on a fool’s attempt to locate the city of Atlantis. And this wasn’t the first time he’d ruffled feathers in the scientific and archaeological communities. His theories and ideas have never been widely excepted. Some even went so far as to dub them blasphemous. Just reading a snippet of his graduate thesis gives you some insight into why: Learn more about Matthew Stevens

New Epic Novel In The Works

I have a new novel in the works, and it’s going to be epic! (I know, I’m boasting. But hey, I’m a writer… I give the truth scope!)

Originally written approximately 10 years ago, the novel flowed from my fingertips like luscious honey, and no matter how hard I tried, I could never find a way to close the floodgates. But what writer would, especially when my characters were taking me on such a wild and adventurous journey — one that I now feel is ready to share with the world. Though a release date has yet to be set (because, you know, it has been sitting on my digital shelf for nearly ten years… I need to blow some ones and zeroes off of it before it’s at its best and brightest), I’ve tentatively scheduled it for sometime in November.

More will be revealed in the coming months. But for now, here’s a short teaser trailer to whet your appetite. View Teaser Trailer

Reading Sample – Memoirs of Keladrayia

It’s getting closer!

Before my new novel officially lands on June 23, you now have the chance to check out the first two chapters, which are ready to be devoured as part of the brand new Phoenix Moirai Publising site, which itself dives head first into what makes publishing with Phoenix Moirai so unique (or at least what will make it unique, once it’s fully operational in, say, ten or so years *cross fingers*; I know, it’s a long time to wait, but I’m still building the business, here, so be patient!) Write A Novel With Me On Hiatus

For all of you looking forward to reading the next chapter for Write A Novel With Me, I have some bad news. No, Write A Novel With Me is not ending by any means; I am having too much fun writing the story to have that happen. However, over the last couple of weeks, due to some other responsibilities (and some personal matters that needed attending to), I realized I have seriously been neglecting my other novel, Memoirs of Keladrayia. My initial plan to release the novel last summer was waylaid as I slowly built leads and contacts for my new business, Phoenix Moirai. And every time someone asked when the book would be coming out, I would usually give a two to three month time frame from the time the question was posed, no matter when it was asked or who asked it. Several weeks ago, I mentioned on Twitter that the third draft was nearing completion, and there it sat… unloved as I continued to push its priority to the back burner.

Well, no more. Find Out Why

And the Sequel Begins

This afternoon—after a holiday season that saw a lot of time away from the computer and a lot of busy work on other projects (which included my book tour for In the Light of the Eclipse, looking into selling my feature film, Secrets of the Desert Nymph, beta reading my friend’s new novel, playing “Star Wars Angry Birds” and “Skyward Sword”, breaking in the new Wii U I got for Christmas (I know, when that procrastination bug takes hold…), spending time with family, prepping the filming of my sister’s wedding, helping to put new carpet into my family’s living room, and of course looking and applying for a new full-time job)—I finally wrote the first 2000 words of my next book, Memoirs of Keladrayia: Jaxxa Rakala. Don’t Stop — There’s Plenty More
